Cozumel Island always has amazing weather. While we may experience some rain showers in the early morning or afternoon, this is very minimal and will not negatively effect your tour. Due to the fact that Discover Cozumel cannot control the weather unfortunately no refunds are given due to inclement weather.
All bookings require pre-payment of a deposit. The remaining balance will either be due 5 days prior to the tour (for select tours), or in cash the day of the tour.
In the rare event that a cruise ship changes schedules and//or cannot dock in Cozumel - your deposit will be refunded. This will require proof and notification by the cruise line to us.
This is very rare, but can happen. In the event your cruise ship cannot dock in Cozumel (most of the time due to weather or water currents) we will be notified by the cruise line. For this situation, your prepaid fee will be refunded to you.
This is one of the biggest myths out there! The cruise lines tell you this, as they are outsourcing 99% of their excursions to local companies like us! They up-charge to make profit, and share very little with the local island company and guides. Most of the time you can find the exact same tours, at a more affordable price. We guarantee getting you back to the cruise port on time, before your deadline for getting back on the boat! In 8+ years of doing this, a cruise passenger has NEVER been late returning.
Our tour pages have recommendations such as sunscreen, sunglasses, towels, water shoes (most of this is NOT provided by the local beach clubs, etc.). We also recommend long sleeves, as the sun is very harmful on our beautiful island. Many tours provide water, but you are more than welcome to bring your own water and snacks.
Yes you can! However, the cruise ship will take any alcohol or tobacco products from you when you board and will return it to you the morning that you disembark. You may be required to pay taxes on these when going through customs at your home port.
There is another myth that Mexico is not safe? If that's the case, why are you here? For our beautiful island, tourist attractions, and culture. Cozumel is an island off of Mexico and is VERY safe, one of the safest places in America (that includes the USA). it's very safe to bring cash and credit cards with you. You can change your USD to Peso's if you want too but that's not needed. The USD has a higher value than the peso and people appreciate you paying with USD. Almost everyone will accept credit cards also and the exchange rate will vary based on your card issuer. (Note: AMEX is not widely accepted, but Visa and Mastercard is)
Many of our guides work on tips and rely on tips to survive! While tips are not mandatory, they are encouraged and GREATLY appreciated!
While gifts are appreciated, our tour guides greatly prefer cash, versus gifts. Since they are local to the island, they have easy access to most of the touristy items that people tend to think of buying for them.
